Making kind words envelopes & discussing the topic passion

Last Sunday we made our kind words envelopes. All of the girls showed creativity as you can see from the photos bellow. Afterwards, Kathy, the volunteer in Gevgelija helped us discuss the topic passion & we all had chance to share what we're passionate about. All of that was actually preparing for writing an essay on topic "My life-my passion" for 2011 National Essay Contest. To sum it up, we had another meeting full with fun and creativity!

Self-esteem & body image lesson

We planned a fun first educational meeting for our girls filled with activities they could participate in & are happy to say that they all did. We explained them what self-esteem is and how to keep it on a high level, which turned out to be not  that necessary since most of our girls seemed confident with their bodies and aware that perfection can't be reached. Anyways, they were all satisfied with the meeting and promised to show up next week too!

First meeting for our new members & Halloween party!

waiting for our new girls in front of the library

October 30th.
We had our first meeting for the new members and Halloween party. About 10 NEW girls showed up and we are expecting to see them again tomorrow. They seemed to be having fun and we believe they were satisfied with what club GLOW Gevgelija offered them! On the first meeting for them we had ice-breaking games and games connected to Halloween. The officers and the last year members went to the library (where the meeting was held) 2 hours earlier to prepare everything. Our next meeting is about self-esteem and body image. Here are some photos of the meeting.

Club GLOW Gevgelija presentations at primary school "Krste Misirkov" and high school "Josif Josifovski"

All of the members of our club, headed by the officers helped in presenting our club to the young women of  the primary school "Krste Misirkov" & the high school "Josif Josifovski". The presentation at the primary school was attended by more than 30 eight graders. The presentation at the high school was attended by every girl in 1st and 2nd grade. (photos above). We believe we presented our club well and now many girls are interested  in becoming our members. The first meeting and welcoming party is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, October 30th. We all are very excited and looking forward to it!

Recruiting new members

Our club is in the need of new members. Therefore, the 2nd meeting was all about that - how to recruit new members. This meeting was led by Doris. We had many useful ideas and also made decisions about what are we going to do to keep our new members interested in the club. We are going to continue with our plans for our club the next meeting, which is on Sunday, September 18th.

Club GLOW Gevgelija's first meeting in the new 2011/12 school year!

On the first meeting of this school  year (photos above) we talked about new ideas on how to improve our club GLOW for us and the future members and new topics that we could learn about. We also heard the impressions from those who went to camp this summer. All three of them said that they are very satisfied with the new experiences they gained from camp and that they would like to go again. We can't wait to start the campaign for recruiting new members and show other young ladies in our community that girls can lead our world!!

The Club House

The library of Gevgelija has generously donated a new meeting space for our club. We had been meeting in the lobby of the keno, but new ownership closed the space down. We met in various places while we were looking for a new place. We now have a club room that is ours to decorate and use. It is heated and cooled, has furniture, and a beautiful view of the town center. We are excited to get some posters and to make pictures for our walls. Thank you, Gevgelija library!
